There's familiarity and comfort as our thoughts ebbs in reminisce but it's not going to shed any bright light in the current relationship turmoil except the inherent character traits that dominates.
Likewise it's difficult to draw conclusive parallels with the current. The dynamics in a relationship at different life stage presents a very different perspective.
A 15 year old with a long dist ggr almost a decade back vs a long dist ggr with 2 adults in 2013. An attempted move to grab the girl's hand and asked her to be his gf during uni days vs eventually marrying a lady after the bto.
The perspective of love and the commitment level are probably some of the that contribute to the apple and orange comparison. Seems like it all goes down to higher opportunity cost as we age.
