I would like to think of memory itself taking an identity of air bubbles, that once inhaled would generate a range of emotions and response.
Why air bubbles?
Almost everywhere we go, air is present and it is just that we cannot see them bubbling except in water.
Almost everything contains air just as almost everything contains memories. A thing that contains no air is equivalent to being void of memories, empty? I have a picture of a sausage vacuum bag in mind where all the air is being sucked out.
You open up your drawer and you rummage through the items inside, bubbles of memories come out.. and before your brain starts to process the significance of the items, these little air bubbles get inhaled by you. It can possibly make u feel:
- refreshing
- nostalgic
- devastating
- nonchalant
etc..
jus as certain memories (air bubbles) are the last things we ever want to revive (inhale).. we can’t possibly avoid the existence of it (stop breathing) bcos in the first place they exist (air is all around).
I think memories tt carry a certain scent has the most impact. Pictures can be burnt, presents can be thrown away and well u can try to occupy yr mind with other things BUT u never know when someone will carry tt similar scent which would infuse your nostrils and then yr head.
my dearest poh yan is an hr late. im getting impatient. i have already spent 20 mins blogging and she's hasn't appeared.
